The 2007/2008 skating season saw the re-birth of a synchronized skating team at the Georgina Skating Club.

Synchronized skating provides a supportive network where skaters come together to create patterns and shapes on the ice; a feat not always as easy as it appears. The majority of our skaters had not even seen synchronized skating much less skated it themselves. With just 1 hour of practice per week, the skaters not only learned the various synchro moves, but were able to improve with each skate. During competitions, other, more experienced teams went out of their way to tell us to keep up the good work, that they too could see improvement. Oh, and we also were told we had the best hair!

It's hard to put into words what synchronized skating is all about. When reflecting back over this season, it didn't seem to matter if the skaters were at the early morning practices, sitting to have hair and make up done, or if they were learning new cheers or pin trading in the stands with other teams, they were always smiling and having fun. I guess that is what it is really all about!
