PROGRAM PHILOSPHY

The GSC Athletic Program has been developed to offer a more intense training for skaters who love to skate and enjoy training hard to achieve their goals. This program offers training at an advanced level to develop skills on and off the ice. Skaters are expected to show the kind of enthusiasm, commitment and effort necessary for them to develop their skills, physically and mentally, for a more competitive skating experience. We will provide a steady and disciplined approach to the training sessions to encourage development of skills and personal growth. Various rules and policies will be implemented to ensure a sense of team effort is acquired. The success of the program will not come in the form of medals or tests passed, but in the personal achievement of the individuals. Our commitment is 100% to the skaters and we expect the same from the parents and families.

THE SKATERS COMMITMENT

Skaters will come to each practice prepared and ready to give full effort.

Skaters will respect each other as teammates both on and off the ice, regardless of ability.

Skaters will always show respect for authority figures (coaches, instructors, judges, officials) as well as other skaters.

Skaters are expected to prioritize their commitment to the Athletic Program, but must always remember that family and school comes first.

THE PARENTS COMMITMENT

Parents will be supportive of all members of the program regardless of abilities and goals.

Parents will do their best to ensure their skaters make it to the rink on time.

Parents will respect the training and experience of our staff and leave the coaching to the coaches.

Parents will inform the Staff of any physical, health or mental issues that may affect training.
